JOPLIN, Mo. — The Alliance will host “An Afternoon at The Races,” a Kentucky Derby-themed event from 2 to 6 p.m. on Saturday, May 4 at The Sterling Event Center in Joplin.
Event-goers can look forward to live Kentucky Derby-viewing, a Churchill Crowns Hat Bar, simulated horse races, themed drinks, a silent auction and other Derby activities to benefit The Alliance. Tickets are on sale now and can be purchased through Eventbrite. Tickets are $60 if purchased ahead of time or $75 at the door. Sponsorship packages are also available as The Alliance celebrates its 25th year of serving kids, the grown-ups in their lives, and the communities they live in.
The Alliance is a non-profit serving a 15-county area with a wide variety of programs, including farm-to-table produce for families in need, hands-on parenting classes and specialized education for childcare providers, driver’s education and permit readiness promoting road safety, substance misuse prevention education through community coalitions, financial planning and goal setting, and more.
