Ozark Overtones Chorus wins International Barbershop chorus contest

The “Ozark Overtones Chorus” won the International Barbershop Senior Chorus Contest on Jan. 10, 2020 in Jacksonville, Fla.

There were 10 choruses throughout the United States competing for the top honor at the Barbershop Harmony Mid-Winter Convention. All men in the chorus must be 60 years or older to qualify for the chorus contest.

The Ozark Overtones Chorus consisted of members from Joplin, Springfield, and Kansas City. Members from the Joplin Tristatesmen Barbershop Chorus were Don Snow, Mike Baggerly, Rick Dunaway, Bobby Gray, and Daryl Johansen.

The Ozark Overtones sang “Something About Ya’” and “Love’s Old Sweet Song.”
