The Carthage and Webb City Senior Centers will offer free preparation of the Missouri PTC refund/rebate in early February.
Those who qualify for this refund can call either Center to make an appointment now. This is being done to make it easier and faster for persons 65 and older (over 60 if you are a survivor annuitant) and persons on Social Security disability.

If receiving Social Security benefits, these persons must bring their SSA-1099 which shows the amount of benefits they received in 2018 and any documents of other income received. If receiving SSI benefits they must request a letter from Social Security office in Joplin or online which gives their income from SSI for 2018 and, if disabled, gives the date of their disability. If a person receives income from both Social Security and SSI, they must bring both.
Homeowners must bring their Real Estate tax receipt for the home in which they lived for 2018 marked “paid”.
Persons who rent must bring a form/letter from their landlord with the months they rented and the amount of rent they paid, the landlord’s identification number or last 4 digits of their Social Security number, and the landlord’s address and phone number. This must be signed by the landlord. A Certification of Rent Paid form will be available from the Senior Center for your convenience.
If you have never applied for this refund before, you can apply for the 3 previous years with the same documentation for each year.
Volunteers will fill out forms, copy the necessary documents that you bring and furnish self-addressed envelopes for you to mail.
