CARTHAGE, Mo. — A Carthage High School graduate has announced his candidacy to become the next Mayor of Carthage.
Current Mayor Dan Rife, who is entering his fourth year as Mayor, has already filed for re-election to the position.
He is being challenged by David “Bren” Flanigan. Flanigan, a fifth generation Carthaginian and West Point graduate, holds two master’s degrees and notes his more than 40 years of senior leadership and management in the military and business world as the experience needed for the position.

Voters will head to the polls April 5 to decide the next Mayor.
