Elva “Maxine” Waggoner, 90, Carthage, Missouri, passed away Tuesday, December 15, 2020, at Mercy Hospital, Carthage, Missouri.
Maxine was born January 2, 1930, in Coalinga, California, the daughter of Willie Elvis Mallory and Eunice France (Jones) Mallory. She was a 1948 graduate of Everton High School, Everton, Missouri. Maxine married Robert Frank “Bob” Waggoner on March 8, 1950, in Greenfield, Missouri. She worked at Big Smith in Carthage for 20 years and worked at Walmart as a stocker for several years. She was a member of the Good Shepherd Lutheran Church in Carthage. Maxine enjoyed camping, quilting, working in the yard, but most of all, taking care of her grandchildren.
Survivors include two daughters, Donna Woody, Carthage, and Karen Blevins (Bill), Carthage; a son, Bob Waggoner (Corinne), Carthage; a brother, Phillip Mallory; a sister, Shirley Davis; five grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband of 60 years, Bob Waggoner; a son-in-law, Ron Woody; and two grandchildren, Mark Blevins, and Kris Woody.
Graveside services will be held 10 am, Wednesday, December 23, 2020, at Misemer Cemetery, Miller, Missouri. The family will receive friends from 6-7 pm, Tuesday, December 22, 2020, at Knell Mortuary, Carthage. Memorial gifts are suggested to Meals on Wheels in care of Knell Mortuary.
