James Thomas “Tom” Harmon, 69, passed away at National Healthcare in Joplin on Wednesday, December 16, 2020.
Tom was born September 4, 1951, in Neosho, MO to Bill and Gloria “Jeanne” (Elliott) Harmon. He graduated from Carthage High School in 1969 and entered the United States Army, where he served a tour of duty in Vietnam in the 173rd Airborne Division. He was a disabled veteran and a member of VFW Post #2590.
Tom is survived by one sister, Kathy Keepper (Byron) of Carthage; two brothers, Rob Harmon and Jeff Harmon (Melinda), both of Carthage; special friend, Sue Oliveira of Webb City, along with many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.
Tom was preceded in death by his parents.
A private memorial service will be held at a later date. Tom’s remains will be interred at the Missouri Veterans Cemetery in Springfield, with full military honors.
