Richard Charles “Dick” Daly, 88, Carthage, Missouri, passed away early Sunday morning, November 15, 2020.
Richard was born February 6, 1932 in Ponca City, Oklahoma, the son of John Joseph Daly and Ruth Elizabeth (McHenry) Daly. He was a 1950 graduate of Carthage High School. Richard was a veteran serving his country in the United States Air Force. He worked in sales for the local KDMO radio station and also worked for the Missouri American Gas Company. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus and of St. Ann’s Catholic Church in Carthage. Richard loved sports, always rooting for the University of Missouri Tigers and the Kansas City Royals.
Survivors include two daughters, Linda Burken (Greg), Carthage, and Elaine Daly, Joplin; two granddaughters, Elizabeth Burken, Joplin, and Abby Burken, Joplin; a brother, Paul Daly, St. Paul, Minnesota; and his dog, Bo.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a son, Peter Daly; and a brother, Don Daly.
A funeral mass will be held 10:30 am, Thursday, November 19, 2020 at St. Ann’s Catholic Church, Carthage. The family will receive friends from 6-7 pm, Wednesday, November 18, 2020 at Knell Mortuary, Carthage. Interment will be held in Park Cemetery following the funeral mass.
