Homer H. Belk, 85, passed away at his home in Carthage, Missouri, October 14, 2020.
Homer was born June 16, 1935, in Eldorado, Kansas to Fred and Ada Belk. Homer retired in 2003 after 14 years working for the Cessna Aircraft Company as a supervisor over the single-engine division. He was a baseball player and played shortstop. In 2008 he was inducted into the Eldorado High School Baseball Hall of Fame. He was a St. Louis Cardinal fan. Homer loved art and loved to paint acrylics on canvas. He was a member of the First Christian Church where he helped with the communion service and was active in the Seekers Sunday school class.
Homer was united in marriage to Pam Nicely July 30, 1988, in Owasso, Oklahoma, she survives.
Homer is survived by two daughters Stephanie (Jason) Doss of Monett, MO, Nicole (Kevin) Harris Battlefield, MO, one son Eric (Missy) Belk of Springfield, MO, one step-daughter Connie Savage of Tulsa, OK, and one step-son Kenny Savage of Skiatook, OK, nine grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
Services will be held 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, October 20, 2020, at the First Christian Church of Carthage, Visitation will be held from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, October 20, 2020, at the First Christian Church of Carthage. Burial will follow at Park cemetery. Contributions can be made to the First Christian Church, The American Cancer Society or the American Heart fund in care of Ulmer Funeral Home.
