CIC staff dominates dodgeball tournament on home court

The Carthage Intermediate Center staff won the first ever 2019 Dodgeball Tournament in convincing fashion Monday, Jan. 28. The tournament was hosted by the CIC and held in the school gym. School Resource officer, Detective and emcee for the event Jeff Fries said the plan is to continue the tournament each year.

The CIC staff, under the team name of Carthage Intermediate State Penitentiary knocked off team one of the Carthage Police Department in round 1, Mark Twain’s We Don’t Have a Name in round 2 and the staff of the Jr. High in round 3 to claim the victory and hoist the trophy.

In previous tournament action We Don’t Have a Name topped Fairview Roadrunner’s to advance to the second round before falling to the CIC. The Carthage Fire Department lost their match to the Carthage Police Department’s team two The Other Guy’s. The Jr. High drew a first round bye and then defeated The Other Guy’s to advance to the tournament final before falling to the CIC three games to none.
