CARTHAGE, Mo. — The Jasper County Sheriff’s Office is now offering enrollment in the 21st Semi-Annual, Sheriff’s Citizens Academy.
This session will run from March 10 to May 12, 2022. Classes will be held every Thursday night from 6:30-8:30 p.m. at various locations in Carthage. Participants must be 18 years of age or older and have no felony or serious misdemeanor convictions. There is no cost for participants.
Topics will include: History of the Office of Sheriff, Courthouse Operations, Patrol Functions, Dangerous Drugs, DWI Enforcement, K-9 Operations, Detention Center Operations, SWAT Operations, Firearms, Cyber Crimes, Crimes against Children, Criminal Investigations, and Crime Scene Investigations.

Completed forms can be hand delivered or mailed to the Jasper County Sheriff’s Office SCA, 231 South Main St. Carthage, Mo. 64836. Digital copies of completed applications can be emailed to Sgt.
