The postseason honors are already rolling in for Carthage senior Clayton Whitehead, who was named District Runner of the Year by cross country coaches.
Whitehead, who finished second in the state championship race, also earned first-team honors.
Brothers Christian and Noah Talamantez eared honorable mention honors for the Carthage boys.
Jenari Lopez was a second-team honoree for the Carthage girls.
Branson’s Doug Furtkamp was the boys coach of the year and West Plains’ Alicia Gunter was the girls coach of the year.
Webb City’s Haddon Spikereit was a first-team boys runner. Joplin placed Micah Bruggeman and Evan Northcutt on the second team. Webb c/ity’s Owen Weller and Joseph Dawson were honorable mention boys runners.
Carl Junction’s Alanza Montez was a first-team girls runner. Carl Junction’s Maegen Derfelt was a second team runner, along with Webb City’s Riley Hawkins. Carl Junction’s Evie Cross and Joplin’s Ali Doll earned honorable mention.
