Tigers pull away from Nevada in 66-50 win

CARTHAGE, Mo. — A highlight reel dunk from Sophomore Guard Justin Ray with just seconds left in the game capped off a 66-50 win by the Carthage Tigers over the visiting Nevada Tigers Thursday, Jan. 27.

Carthage went 11 of 14 from the free-throw line with eight of those coming in the fourth quarter to help seal the victory.

Joel Pugh led the Tigers with 22 points for the game. Max Templeman added 12 points followed by Justin Ray with 11 points. Tyler Willis chipped in with 10 points, Caden Kabance finished with 6 points, Britt Coy and Clay Kinder added 2 points apiece while Sylas Browning had 1 point.

The Tigers are 15-3 (1-1 in COC) and face the Joplin Eagles Tuesday, Feb. 1 at home in a COC matchup.

Britt Coy and Jack Ryder led the Tigers with 13 points apiece and the team combined for 9 three-pointers in a 51-29 win against visiting Nevada Thursday, Jan. 27.

Dylan Pugh added 6 points for the Tigers while Trent Yates finished with 5 points. Kruz Castor chipped in with 4 points. Bryson Trammel and Owen Derryberry added 3 points each. Ben Nichols and Taylor Stevens finished with 2 points apiece.
