ROLLA, Mo. — The No. 12 ranked Missouri Southern men’s track and field team picked up four event wins as the Lions competed today at the 2019 Dewey Allgood Invitational, hosted by Missouri S&T.
Jon Johnson picked up a win in the 400m dash posting a time of 48.63, while Blake Gillihan was 16th in the 800m. Kevin Koester was second in the 1,500m with a time of 4:02.80, while Jared Ozee and Ryan Drendel finished 12th and 13th.
Dean Howard won the pole vault in an NCAA Provisional Height of 15-09.75, while Josh Norville was just a quarter inch from the school record in the long jump, winning the event with an NCAA Provisional Distance of 24-11.00. Brendan Watkins was second in a provisional distance of 24-00.75, while Adrain Broadus was sixth.
Broadus won the triple jump in a provisional distance of 48-10.75, while Watkins was third and Kennan Harrison placed ninth.
The Lions will be back in action next Friday as Southern travels to Pittsburg State.
