Wayne Allen Curry, 65, of Reeds, Missouri, passed away on Saturday, January 7, 2023. Wayne was born on July 27, 1957, in Carthage, Missouri, to Albert E. Curry and Bonnie B. (Schofield) Curry. He lived in the Jasper County area his whole life. Wayne attended Sarcoxie schools and graduated with the Class of 1976. He worked for Leggett and Platt in Carthage and then at Lazy Boy in Neosho, Missouri where he retired after 23 years. He was a member of the VFW Auxiliary, he enjoyed Billiards, he liked being outdoors, spending his time fishing, and riding his motorcycle.
Wayne is survived by two sons, Dusty Curry and wife, Stephanie of Carthage and Tyler Curry and girlfriend, Jennifer Gatlin from Neosho; two brothers, Richard Lee Curry of Carthage and James Elvis Curry of Carthage; two sisters, Twila Curry-Guenther of Carthage and Lorene Rose Curry-Guzman of Amarillo, Texas; and five grandchildren, Darren, Avery, Ryder, Maximus, and Macklyn.
He is preceded in death by one son, Joseph Curry (1980), his parents, Albert and Bonnie Curry, and one sister, Glenda Mae Curry.
A service will be held for Wayne at 11:00 AM on Friday, January 13, 2023, at Ulmer Funeral Home in Carthage, Missouri. There will be a visitation held from 6:00 to 7:00 PM on Thursday, January 12, 2023, at Ulmer Funeral Home in Carthage, Missouri. Burial will be at Emmanuel Cemetery following the service.
