Virginia Jacobson, 77 of Carthage, passed away on April 9, 2020.
Virginia was born Aug. 28, 1942, in Ottawa, Kan., to Howard and Margret (Frank) Downing. Virginia earned a degree from the business college in Wichita, Kan.
After earning her degree, she moved to Denver, Colo., where she met James Jacobson and they quickly became “The light of each others lives.” They enjoyed 42 wonderful years together mostly in Colorado but also in Illinois, Arizona and retiring to Florida.
Virginia and Jim loved to travel especially by cruise ships. 15 total cruises, with 11 of them to the beautiful Hawaiian Islands. She loved spending time with her family, friends and gardens.
Virginia is survived by her husband James. Four children; Dale A. Bailey Jr. and wife Deb, Dawn Martini and husband Steve, James Jacobson II and wife Lori, and Lonnie Yoho and wife Patricia, 10 grandchildren; Jonathan, Austin, Cheryl, Kyle, Alexandria, James III, Natalie, Thomas, Heather, and Amanda, six great-grandchildren; Lane, McKenzie, Lilliana, Gianna, Easton, and Maya, sisters; Arlene Marsala and Eileen Jaszczak and friends she considered family across the country.
Private Memorial services will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday, April 14, 2020, at Ulmer Funeral Home.
