Virginia “Darlene” Wilson, 88, passed away Thursday, August 13, 2020, at Mercy Hospital in Joplin.
Darlene was born October 24, 1931 south of Carthage to John Henry and Bessie Adeline “Sidenstricker” Plummer. Darlene was a lifetime resident of the area and retired from Safeway Cheese after 33 years. She also attended Wildwood Baptist Church in Joplin.
Darlene is survived by three daughters, Annelie Parsons of Luther, OK, Gay Robertson of Tulsa, OK and Lisa Crouch (Jerry) of Webb City, MO; six grandchildren, 28 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren; one brother, Clyde Plummer of Webb City; two sisters, Thelma Louise Bass of Carthage and Ailene DeWelt of Joplin.
Darlene was preceded in death by her parents, three brothers, one sister and one sister-in-law.
Visitation will be held from 6:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. Monday, August 17, 2020, at Ulmer Funeral Home. Services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, August 18, 2020, at Ulmer Funeral Home. Burial will be at Emmanuel Cemetery east of Carthage (Cedar Road & County Rd. 110).
