Sharon “Gale” Swartz, 78, of Carthage, Missouri, passed away on Wednesday, August 29, 2024, at her home. Sharon was born on October 10, 1945, in Pampa, Texas, to Herbert Tanner and Clara O’Dell (Holland) Tanner. She had her CNA certification and worked as a private duty nurse for many years. She enjoyed crocheting and crafting.
Sharon was joined in marriage to Donald Swartz in 1963; he preceded her in death.
She is survived by her sons, Donald Swartz of Carthage, Eric Swartz (Kim) of Kansas City, Missouri, Travis Swartz of Higginsville, Missouri; two daughters, Debra Pickering (Mark) of Sarcoxie, Missouri and Donna Swartz of Blue Springs, Missouri; one brother, Stephen Tanner of Richmond, Missouri, one sister, Vickie Beaumont of Carthage; 15 grandchildren, Katrina, Chris, Ariel, Nick, Samantha, Mackenzee, Dawn, Selena, Jeremy, Misty, Levi, Ethan, Seth, Vanessa, and Clyde; and 17 great-grandchildren.
Sharon was preceded in death by one son, Billy Swartz; and one brother, Jerry Tanner.
Graveside services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, September 4, 2024, at Coyville Cemetery in Coyville, Kansas. There will be a visitation from 6:00 to 7:00 PM on Tuesday, September 3, 2024, at Ulmer Funeral Home in Carthage, Missouri.
