Rebecca “Becky” Diane Porter, 62, of Mount Vernon, Missouri, passed away on Wednesday, January 18, 2023, at Cox South Hospital in Springfield, Missouri. Becky was born on May 6, 1960, in Plano, Texas to Ruebin Chambers and Hellen “West” Chambers. She was a longtime resident of Mount Vernon and worked for Eagle Picher for 15 years, and later retired from Efco. She enjoyed spending time with her family, friends, and grandkids. She was the number one nanny, mom, and wife.
Becky was united in marriage to Mark Porter on February 14, 2009, in Eureka Springs, Arkansas; he survives.
Along with her husband Mark, she is survived by three sons, Billy Nicholson of Mount Vernon, Mark Porter Jr. and wife Heidi of Dallas, Texas, and Michael Porter of Hawaii; three daughters, Kristi Carver of Miller, Missouri, Sara Hendricks and husband Wyatt of Halltown, Missouri, and Michelle Porter of Springfield, Missouri; 12 grandkids, Timmy, Desirae, Jayden, Gavin, Kylie, Logan, Kigh, Chloe, Keana, Terrance, Sophia, Kiana; stepmother, Kathie Chambers of Sherman, Texas; four brothers Les Chambers of Texas, Ruebin Chambers Jr. of Texas, Randy Chambers of Texas, and Alan Nelson of Muskogee, Oklahoma; and one sister, Julie Nelson- Tomlinson of Texas.
She was preceded in death by her father Ruebin Chambers and mother Hellen Chambers.
A service will be held for Becky at 11:00 AM on Saturday, January 21, 2023, at Summit Baptist Church in Mount Vernon, Missouri. The visitation will be held from 9:00 to 11:00 AM on Saturday, January 21, 2023, at Summit Baptist Church in Mount Vernon, Missouri.
