Fifty-seven years ago, a true love story began in Carthage, Missouri when Ray Manley met and married Pat Greene. That love story is on hold as Ray has now met his heavenly Father and is finally pain free.
Raymond Eugene Manley, 75 of Shell Knob died in Mercy Hospital on Jan 5, 2022 following complications of a surgical procedure. Ray was born in LaRussell, MO on October 8, 1946. He leaves behind his wife and best friend, Patricia Manley, and two beloved daughters, Tina Jason and husband, Dave, of O’Fallon, MO and Brenna Cargile and husband, Gene, of Washburn, MO. Ray is also survived by three grandsons, Nick Mizerny and wife Amy, Tyler Cargile and Lane Cargile, three great-grandchildren Lance, Ava and Gwen Mizerny, one brother, Dennis Manley, of Carthage and sister-in-law, Cheryl Green, of Shell Knob. Ray will also be missed by his lifelong friends Jess Poindexter, Kenny Jeffries and Darryl Irion.
Ray grew up in Carthage, MO and joined the Army National Guard upon graduating from high school. He attended Missouri Southern College before moving his family to Shell Knob. Ray owned and operated Bridgeview Plumbing there until his retirement in 2003. He was always community minded and served as a Shell Knob Road Commissioner, Director for the Barry Electric Coop, Member of the University of Missouri Extension Board and was currently a member of the Barry County Sheriffs Advisory Board. He was preceded in death by his parents Zella (Pennington) and Clayton Manley.
Ray always enjoyed the outdoors and loved riding his motorcycles. He also enjoyed deer hunting and bass fishing and was a music enthusiast, animal lover and had a wonderful sense of humor. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
The family will receive friends from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, January 11, 2022, at White Funeral Home, Cassville, Missouri.
