Pierina “Rina” DeLester, 90, passed away Tuesday, November 7, 2023, in Joplin, Missouri. Rina was born March 10, 1933, in Dudelange, Luxembourg, Europe to Pietro Piccinini and Emma Tommasini. She was one of nine children: Dino, Marcell, Bruno, Romain, Josee, Irma, Gisella, and Anita. Rina was a longtime Joplin Resident. She was a housekeeper for several families in the Joplin Area and was always active in the Maple Leaf Parade in Carthage, Missouri.
Rina was united in marriage to Kenny DeLester on April 14, 1986, in Oklahoma; Kenny preceded her in death December 8, 1998.
Rina is survived by three sons, Rene Felker (Vivian), Jimmy Felker, and Mark Felker; four daughters, Diana Moore (Larry), Nancy Felker, Connie Simon, and Phyllis Hance; twelve grandchildren; and nine great grandchildren.
Rina is preceded in death by her husband, Kenny; a son-in-law, David Hance; her parents Pietro and Emma Piccinini.
Rina’s family would like to give a heartfelt “Thank You” to Joplin Gardens for taking such good care of their Mother. They would also like to give a big “Thank You” to Intrepid Hospice for all they did for their Mother and family as well.
Services will be held 2:00 p.m. Friday, November 10, 2023, at Ulmer Funeral Home in Carthage, Missouri. Visitation will be held from 6:00 to 7:00 p.m. Thursday, November 9, 2023. Burial will be at Burkhart Cemetery, Neosho, Missouri.
