Peggy Ellen Pennington, 89, Carthage, Missouri, passed away early Tuesday, March 14, 2023, at St. Luke’s Nursing Center in Carthage. Peggy was born on March 1, 1934, in Sarcoxie, Missouri, the daughter of the late Jesse and Florence (Kee) Dennison. She was a 1952 graduate of Sarcoxie High School. She married Bob F. Pennington on February 19, 1955, in Sarcoxie. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Carthage. She enjoyed crocheting and knitting, but most of all, spending time with her family.
Survivors include her husband, Bob; two children, Sharon Roth (Dervin), Joplin, Missouri, and Douglas Pennington (Diane), Carthage, Missouri; four grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and one sister, Marjorie Bull, Carthage, Missouri.
She was also preceded in death by eight brothers and sisters, Claudie Dennison, Monroe Dennison, Eugene Dennison, Willard Dennison, Paul Ray Dennison, Lloyd Dennison, Anna Mae Sprute, and Kathryn Dennison.
Funeral services will be held at 2 pm, Monday, March 20, 2023, at the Knell Mortuary. Burial will follow in the Cave Springs Cemetery, Sarcoxie, Missouri. Visitation will be held from 1 pm to service time Monday March 20, 2023, at the Knell Mortuary. Online condolences may be expressed though www.knellmortuary.com.
