Matthew William Cox, 39, Joplin, Missouri, passed away Tuesday, April 2, 2024, at Freeman West Hospital, Joplin, Missouri.
Matthew was born July 3, 1984, in Dodge City, Kansas, to William “Bill” Cox and Patricia Mesker. Matthew was employed with Big John’s Construction in Joplin, Missouri. He was an avid sports fan, especially rooting for his Kansas City Chiefs, and loved his family. Matthew was a Christian by faith.
Survivors include his daughter, Brooklynne Shutte, Joplin, Missouri; his son, Brenden Cox, Joplin, Missouri; his grandson, Andrew William Cox, Joplin, Missouri; his father, Bill Cox, Joplin, Missouri; his mother, Patricia Nicholson; two sisters, Jennifer Mcloud, Grove, Oklahoma, and Rosa Bolyard, Joplin, Missouri; and many extended family and friends.
