Mary Beth Bastin, 86, Jasper, MO, passed away Saturday evening, November 7, 2020 at Good Shepherd Nursing Home, Lockwood, MO.
Mary Beth Bastin was born February 22, 1934, to William and Claris Seeley. Beth graduated high school from Golden City, MO, where Beth met her future husband Carl Bastin, Jr. Soon after they married, Bastin Farms, was established in Jasper, MO. They later gave birth to twins, Robert and Robyn. Beth was active with their family farm, a leader and volunteer for The Missouri Farm Bureau, and enjoyed promoting farm education to local schools. Beth was a loving mother and grandmother, master baker and cook, seamstress, and excelled in the game of “hearts” with friends. She enjoyed her many travels with husband Carl and sharing her knowledge of the family tree. She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Carthage, MO.
Survivors include her two children, Robert Bastin (Kathy), Golden City, MO and Robyn McDowell (Bill, deceased), Carthage, MO; her six grandchildren, Carrie Hartigan (husband Joseph) Springfield, MO, Kayla Ayres (husband Randy) Carthage, MO, Michael McDowell (wife Shelby) Oronogo, MO, Matthew McDowell, Sarah Shepherd (husband Sawyer) Girard, KS, Jenny Morgan (husband Jade), Lamar, MO; niece, Sue Hines (husband Royce), Golden City, MO; her five great-grandchildren, Rayna and Jason Ayres, Andrew and Isaac McDowell, and Laramie Shepherd. She was preceded in death by her husband, Carl Bastin, Jr, sister, Annabelle Baskette, and younger brother Robert F. Seeley.
Mary Beth will be dearly missed by all who loved her. A graveside service will be held for close family and friends.
