Margaret Joann Faucett went to be with Jesus July 26, 2022. She was born March 1, 1930, in the Carthage Hotel, which was owned by her paternal Grandmother. She was the third of five children, born to Leonard and Louise Blankenship. Margaret was working as a waitress when she met Kenneth Faucett. It was love at first sight. They were married August 6, 1949, at the preacher’s house. In 1958 they moved to a farm west of Carthage and raised 4 children.

Margaret was a farm wife, a homemaker and mother. She helped raise cows, pigs, and a big garden every year. She froze and canned the vegetables and fruit, grown on the farm. She made the very best pies and she loved to sing while she worked in her kitchen and hung clothes on the line. Margaret also stayed busy as a room mother while her children were in elementary school, and she served as Vice President for the Pleasant Valley R-9 school. While raising children she was also a sewing and cooking project leader in the Hilltoppers 4-H club. In 1969 Margaret went to work at Bee Discount and retired after 22 years.

Margaret was preceded in death by her husband, her parents, her sister, Mary Lou Gipson, and 3 brothers, Leonard Jr, Phillip, and David Blankenship.
