Loyd Dale Bruton, age 82, Carthage, Missouri, passed away Saturday morning, October 12, 2019 at St. Luke’s Nursing Center, Carthage. Loyd was born February 8, 1937 in Springfield, Missouri to the late William Loyd Bruton and Margaret Lucille (Woods) Bruton. He was a 1955 graduate of Marshfield High School. Loyd married Freda Dixon on March 24, 1957 in Springfield; she preceded him in death on March 1, 2008. He was employed with Consumers grocery store for 35 years, retiring as manager. He was a member of Fairview Christian Church, Carthage. Loyd enjoyed playing harmonica, fishing, and going camping, but most of all, spending time with his family.
Survivors include two sons, Randy Bruton (wife Cristy), Carthage, and Phillip Bruton, Carthage; one brother, Jake Bruton (wife Nancy); four grandchildren, Erin Loggains, Jessica Bruton, Eli Bruton and Joshua Bruton; four great-grandchildren, and many extended family and friends.
He was also preceded in death by an infant daughter, Kimberly Bruton; and one brother, Jimmy Bruton.
Visitation will be held 6-7 pm, Tuesday, October 15, 2019 at Knell Mortuary, Carthage. Graveside funeral services will be held 11 am, Wednesday, October 16, 2019 at Park Cemetery, Carthage.
