Loran W. Smith, 58, of Jasper, Missouri, passed away on Friday, April 12, 2024, at his home. He was born on June 1, 1965, in Lawrence, Kansas, to Harrel Smith and Thelma (Catlett). He worked as a forklift operator at Riverside Farm, in Fort Smith, Arkansas, then retired to the Alba area in March of 2022.
Loran is survived by his father, Harrel Smith of Jasper; one brother, Paul Smith (Michelle) of Jasper; two aunts, Mary Gemminger of Lawrence, Kansas, and Jullia Goodman of Van Buren, Arkansas; and several other family members including nieces, nephews, cousins, and extended family.
He was preceded in death by his son, Tyree Smith; his mother, Thelma Smith; and one brother, Charles Smith.
Per Loran’s wishes he will be cremated, and his family will host a Celebration of Life at a later date.
