Joyce Lynn Snodgrass, 73, Carthage, Mo., passed away Thursday evening, March 12, 2020, at NHC HealthCare, Joplin, Mo.
Joyce was born Aug. 8, 1946, in Cardin, Okla., to Lloyd Lester Dirck, Sr. and Virginia Lee (Flournoy) Dirck. She graduated high school in Kellogg, Idaho in 1965. Joyce married James Snodgrass on July 21, 1973, and to this union, two children were born; they later divorced. She worked for many years at St. Luke’s Nursing Center in Carthage until her retirement; she also worked at Big Smith and Juvenile Shoe Company in Carthage. Joyce enjoyed Bingo, playing cards with friends, ceramics, but most of all, spending time with her family.
Survivors include two sons, Jeff Snodgrass and wife Kodie, Joplin, and Jason Snodgrass and wife Valerie, Carthage; three granddaughters, Makayla Snodgrass, Shelby Snodgrass, and Makenzie Snodgrass; one great-grandson, Maverick Snodgrass; a sister, Janice Segura (Tony); nieces and nephews, Ashlee Ludwig (Taylor), Gregg Piotrowski, Emilee Piotrowski (Zachary Brittain), and Savannah Meyer; and many extended family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her father, Lloyd Lester Dirck, Sr.; mother, Virginia Lee Gray; a brother, Lloyd Lester Dirck, Jr.; and a sister, Phyllis Dittmar.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m., Wednesday, March 18, 2020, at Knell Mortuary, Carthage. The family will receive friends from 6-7 p.m., Tuesday, March 17, 2020, at Knell Mortuary. Interment will follow the service at Osborne Cemetery, Joplin.
