Harlan Dale Farmer, 81, passed away Thursday, October 1, 2020, at his home in Carthage.  Harlan was born October 1, 1939, in Muskogee, OK to John and Anna Louise “Gonseth” Farmer.  He was a resident of Carthage since 1971.  Harlan served in the United States Navy and was a member of the Carthage Masonic Lodge #2590.  He was employed by Flex-O-Lators and Sunbeam and was also a farmer.

Harlan was united in marriage to Frances “Rouse” in 1962 in Muskogee, OK; she preceded him in death in 2012.

Harlan is survived by one son, Scott Marriott (Patty) of Alexandria, MN; three daughters, Linda VanBecelaere (Karl) of Waco, TX, Lisa Bauer (Randy) of Carthage, and Gina Bauer of Carthage; five grandchildren, Adam, Adam, Alexandra, Meagan, and Kevin; four great-grandchildren, Elliott, Madeliene, Audrey and Harlan; one brother, Louis Farmer and two sisters, Betty Johnson and Patricia Stewart.

Harlan was preceded in death by two brothers, Johnny and Jimmy Farmer; one sister, Laura Beth Farmer.

An open visitation will be held on Thursday, October 8, 2020, from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. at Ulmer Funeral Home. Graveside services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, October 9, 2020 at Fasken Cemetery northeast of Carthage.

Contributions in Harlan’s memory may be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital in care of Ulmer Funeral Home.
