Lovingly written by his family.
Grover Byron Pennington, 91, passed away Sunday, May 22, 2022. Byron was born May 4, 1931 to Purl Buster Pennington and Julia Gladys (Harrill) Pennington in Carthage, Mo.
Bryon was raised on the family farm outside of Jasper, Mo. He attend Jasper High School in
which he was a very active and proud FFA program participant and a class of 1951 graduate.
In 1954, Byron was united in marriage to long-time girlfriend Sadie Ann Wood. As a couple, they became proud parents of five wonderful children; Troy, Kim, Boyd, Layne and Mona.
Byron worked multiple jobs throughout his life. From having his own milk route to working at the Allis Chalmers factory. But his true passion was steel welding, fabrication and machinist work. He worked tirelessly doing these things and building a strong customer relationship until he was able to do it full time. That is when Pennington and Sons Steel Fabricators was developed in Kansas City, Ks. With hard work from Byron and his family the business grew and moved to Parker, Ks in which enabled Byron to pursue his other passion as well, which was farming.
In 1991, the marriage between him and Sadie was dissolved and later he went on to marry
Carol. Byron and Carol made their home in Springdale, Ar where he worked for his nephew
as a welder and fabricator. Carol passed away due cancer during this time and Byron returned to East Lynn, Mo.
Byron will be remembered as the guy who could fix anything or fabricate anything. If you were the neighbor kid who needed a bike tire fixed, he was your guy. If you were someone who needed something welded, he was the guy. He always had a story to tell.
