Frances Dee Faulkner, 95, Carthage, Missouri, passed away Sunday morning, August 23, 2020, at her home.
Frances was born October 15, 1924, in Petersburg, Indiana; the daughter of James Ray Moler and Hilda (Berridge) Moler. She was a 1942 graduate of Muncie Central High School, Muncie, Indiana. Frances was a veteran serving her country in the U.S. Navy Waves in Washington, D.C. from 1944 to 1947. She married Commander Stuart T. Faulkner, U.S.N., on November 21, 1946 in Washington, D.C. Frances then worked as a court recorder and secretary until her retirement. She was a member of the Gold Star Wives, Reitred Officers Wives, Communication Wives Organization, and served as President-Vice Chairman for the American Red Cross. She volunteered for Military Officers Association of America, American Red Cross, and the VA Hospital. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Carthage.
Survivors include a daughter, Claudia Guess, Carthage; two sons, Ron Faulkner, Joplin, Missouri, and Donald Faulkner, Joplin, Missouri; two grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and many extended family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Stuart Faulkner; and two brothers, Charles Moler, and William “Bill” Moler.
Per Frances’ wishes, there was cremation. Private family services will be held at a later date. Inurnment will be held in Fort Rosecrans National Cemetery, San Diego, California. Memorial gifts are suggested to Wounded Warrior Project, American Cancer Association, or Carthage Humane Society in care of Knell Mortuary.
