Eugene Wesley “Gene” Ralston, 74, Joplin, Missouri, passed away Saturday, August 6, 2022, at his home. He was born on June 14, 1948, in Carthage, Missouri, the son of Lester and Evelyn (Lown) Ralston. Gene attended Carthage Schools growing up, after finishing school went to worked as an over the road truck driver. He married Judi Brooks, to this union two children were born; they later divorced. He was a member of the Blendville Christian Church of Joplin, Missouri. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, playing golf, playing pool, and bowling.
He is survived by two daughters, Stacey Ralston, Joplin, Missouri, and Stephenie Kitchingham (Jack) Lowell, Arkansas; a brother, Raymond Ralston, Carthage, Missouri; two sisters, Betty Smith, Carthage, Missouri, and Shirley Phillips, Ephrata, Washington; and a granddaughter, Allison Kitchingham.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Funeral service will be held at 2:00 pm Friday, August 12, 2022, at the Knell Mortuary. Burial will follow in the Park Cemetery Carthage, Missouri. The Family will receive friends from 1:00 pm to service time at the Knell Mortuary. In lieu of flowers the family suggests contributions to the American Cancer Society in care of the Knell Mortuary.
