Dennis Martin Lamb

Dennis Martin Lamb, 78, of Carthage, Missouri, passed away on June 12, 2026, at his home. He was born on July 16, 1947, in Girard, Kansas, the son of the late Leonard Donald Lamb and Helen Louise (Johnson) Lamb. Dennis lived a life marked by love, humor, family, and an appreciation for the people and simple joys that surrounded him.

He was a 1965 graduate of Carthage High School and later attended the University of Central Missouri. Education and music was an important part of his early life. After his schooling, Dennis worked as a laborer at Big Smith in Carthage and later as a detailer at Hutchins Auto. He took pride in his work and was respected by those who knew him professionally for his steady presence and dependable nature.

Dennis had many talents and interests that brought joy to both himself and those around him. He was a master pianist and earned several awards at the state fair and other competitions for his piano playing, a reflection of both his skill and dedication. Music was one of the many gifts he shared with the world, and his talent left a lasting impression on those fortunate enough to hear him play. He also loved working in the garden and tending to his flowers, finding peace and satisfaction in caring for the beauty that grew under his hands. He had a deep love for animals, especially his dogs, and his affection for them was evident to all who knew him. Dennis also looked forward to the Fourth of July and Halloween, holidays he enjoyed with enthusiasm and delight. These celebrations reflected his playful side and his appreciation for fun, tradition, and the happiness of being with others.

Dennis is survived by his sisters, Linda Brust, Carthage, Debbie Curry (husband Dan), Carthage, and Becky Tilton (husband Marvin), Elkland, Missouri; several nieces and nephews, of whom he loved dearly; and many extended family members and friends.

Private family services will be held at a later date. The family suggests memorial contributions to the Carthage Humane Society in care of Knell Mortuary. Online condolences may be expressed through www.knellmortuary.com. Arrangements are under the direction and personal care of Knell Mortuary.
