Carol Ruth Williams

Carol Ruth Williams, known to family and friends as Carol, passed away on June 14, 2026, in Carthage, Missouri, at the age of 80.

She was born on March 1, 1946, in Emporia, Kansas, the daughter of the late John and Elda (Joeckel) Farmer, and carried the values of hard work, kindness, and devotion throughout her life. Carol lived a life marked by quiet strength, steady care for others, and a warm presence that brought comfort to those around her. She was a loving, creative, and intelligent woman whose gentle spirit left a lasting impression on everyone who knew her.

Carol devoted much of her life to her home and family as a homemaker, a role she embraced with pride and dedication. Her life reflected the beauty of simple, faithful service, and she took great satisfaction in making life better for the people she loved.

She had many interests that brought her joy over the years. Carol loved gardening and found happiness in watching things grow and bloom. She also enjoyed sewing, fishing, and spending time at the lake, where she could relax and appreciate the peace of the outdoors. She liked going to the casino and enjoyed the excitement and entertainment it offered. In quieter moments, she could often be found working crossword puzzles, a pastime that reflected her sharp mind and love for a good challenge.

Carol was deeply connected to her family and cherished the relationships that shaped her life. She is survived by her husband, of 62 years Roy Williams, the two were married on December 28, 1963 in Wichita, Kansas. She is also survived by her sister, Sarah Farmer. She was also preceded in death by her brother, James Farmer, and her sister, Mary Ann Farmer. These family bonds were an important part of her life, and she carried them in her heart always.
