Betty Jean Adams, 84 of Carthage, Missouri, passed away peacefully in her home on Thursday, August 12, 2021. Betty was born on November 5, 1936, to Cecil Burk and Edna “Abbott” Burk in Webb City, Missouri. She was a Webb City High School Graduate from the class of 1954 and after moved to Carthage. Betty was a member of the Retreads Motorcycle Club out of Joplin. She worked at Elders Manufacturing for a while before starting at Schreiber Foods. She dedicated 30 years to Schreiber’s before retiring from there.
Betty was joined in marriage by Roger R. Adams of Carthage, Missouri; he preceded her in death on December 16, 2019.
Betty is survived by one son, Butch Adams and his wife Jan; two daughters Pam Livingston and husband Tim, and Becky Adams Ogle and husband Scott; one brother Bill Burk; eight grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren; and her trusty sidekick and therapy dog Sheldon Cooper.
She is preceded in death by her husband Roger R. Adams; one son Russel Adams; and her parents Cecil and Edna Burk.
A graveside service has been scheduled for Betty at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, August 21, 2021, at Curtis Cemetery in Carthage, Missouri.
