Aaron Woody, beloved son of William and Jeanette Woody, went home to be with our Lord and Savior, December 24, 2023. Aaron graduated from Parkwood High School in Joplin, Missouri, in 1978. He played football and was active in ROTC. Aaron later attended Missouri Southern State University. He also taught general studies at Central Christian Academy.
Aaron’s love for the Lord was present in every aspect of his life. He dedicated his life bringing others to the Lord through running church busses to Galena, Kansas and sharing his knowledge of God’s word. Aaron’s most important role, however, was earning the title of “Father”. “If I’ve ever done anything in this life, it was taking care of Celina.”
Aaron enjoyed taking his dogs, Bella and Lucy, to the park. He would watch cartoons, old westerns, superhero movies and listen to Christian podcasts. Aaron and Celina would watch Star Trek, WWE, Dallas Cowboy Football, and St. Louis Blues Hockey together. Once a week, they would pick a new restaurant to visit. They would often travel to Springfield, Missouri and Branson, Missouri to visit family. Aaron also went to many Star Trek and Art conventions with his close friends. He contributed some of his own art and served as Art Director for VisionCon for many years.
Aaron was a member of the following churches: Dove Point Fellowship, Central Christian Center, Sanctuary of Hope, Good News Church of the Nazarene.
Aaron is survived by his daughter, Celina of the home; her children, Isaac Richards of Joplin, Ethan Richards of Carthage, and JJ Richards of Neosho; his niece, Jennifer McCallister, husband Billy, and their children Zach, Addison, and Payton; niece Laura Healy of Colorado; many dear friends he considered family; and his companions, Bella and Lucy.
He was preceded in death by his parents and three brothers.
