CARTHAGE, Mo. — Vision Carthage is inviting the community to submit orders for its newest fundraiser in honor of the nation’s 250th birthday. For a donation, volunteers will place up to 100 mini American flags in a yard of one’s choosing. The “Flag-A-Yard” service includes a note explaining the fundraiser, inviting recipients to keep the momentum going by sending the flags on to someone else. It’s a patriotic way to spread joy, build community spirit and raise funds for the nonprofit dedicated to the beautification and revitalization of Carthage.
“It’s a fun idea and we’re excited to bring something new to the community,” stated Sally Stuart, Co Director of Vision Carthage. “It’s a wonderful way to show patriotism while supporting our nonprofit, and we look forward to making this an annual fundraiser.”
Flags will begin being placed on Flag Day, June 14, and stay in yards for up to 3 days before being moved to their next destination. Residents can also purchase “No-Flag” insurance for $20 to keep their yard exempt from flagging. The fundraiser will run through the 4th of July.
