A Jasper woman is charged with driving while intoxicated after heading in the wrong direction on I-49 Saturday, Dec. 7.
A warrant was issued for the arrest of Catherine Bary (DOB 1997) with bond set at $50,000 cash or surety.
According to the probable cause statement, Jasper County Dispatch received several calls of people reporting a gray SUV driving southbound in the northbound lane. After the stop, Bary was defiant.
Catherine had the strong odor of intoxicants with slurred speech and glassy eyes. Catherine argued that she was driving in the correct lane despite multiple vehicles passing her in the wrong direction.
Bary resisted arrest and had to be placed into a restraint chair once she was taken to the Jasper County Jail, according to the report.
The case was investigated by the Jasper County Sheriff’s Office.
