Carthage police stop leads to arrest of Sarcoxie man on meth trafficking charge

The Jasper County Prosecuting Attorney’s office filed a felony drug trafficking charge today against Evan Lance Masters (DOB 1976), Sarcoxie, who was stopped December 19 by Carthage Police and allegedly had a sandwich bags of meth in his car and a large amount of cash in his wallet.

From the probable cause statement:

On 12/19/2023 Evan Masters operated a silver 1999 Ford F150 (Missouri 5FGJ78) at Francis and Walnut.

Masters failed to stop at the stop sign. Masters was taken into custody and his vehicle was towed. 

During an inventory search of the vehicle, officers located a Crown Royal bag that contained three (3) sandwich style bags. Each of the bags contained 30 grams of a crystal substance, believed to be methamphetamine, with a total of 90.2 grams. 

Masters’ wallet also contained a total of $3,301.00 in United States Currency.
