A Carthage man forcibly kidnapped and raped a woman November 30, according to a probable cause statement filed Thursday in Jasper County Circuit Court.
The Carthage Police Department arrested Julio Vasquez-Dominquez (DOB 1983) and he is being held without bond on an ICE warrant, according to Jasper County Detention Center records.
Vasquez-Dominquez’ alleged crimes were detailed in the probable cause statement:
Carthage Police was contacted by Julio Vasquez-Dominquez requesting assistance in getting Items from Victim 1’s residence as Victim 1 had an Ex Parte Order of Protection against Vasquez.Â
Officers contacted Victim 1 at the residence at which time Victim 1 advised on 11/30/2024 Vasquez was outside her residence waiting for her. When she went outside, she told Vasquez she did not want to speak to him.Â
Vasquez grabbed her and forced her back inside the residence against her will. Vasquez escorted Victim 1 to the bedroom where he forcibly had sexual intercourse with Victim 1 in her (redacted) and (redacted). Victim 1 did not want to have sexual intercourse with Vasquez, but was scared of Vasquez as he has said she knows what will happen to her kids if she does not allow him to do what he wants. Victim 1’s children were in another room in the residence when this incident occurred.
As a result of the rape, Victim 1 had to be seen at the hospital for continuing problems with her (redacted) and (redacted) area.Â
During a subsequent interview with Vasquez, he advised he had picked up Victim 1 that night, gave her a ride, and everything was consensual. Vasquez refused to give any other information except for that, as a spontaneous utterance.
