STOCKTON — “Southwest Missouri environment lends itself to summer hay harvest,” says Patrick Davis MU Extension Regional Livestock Field Specialist. The optimum time to harvest native warm season grasses is in the summer months. Therefore, MU Extension will be providing an online native warm season grass hay production workshop on the evening of June 23rd.
“MU Extension specialists in the area of cattle nutrition and agronomy will be educating workshop participants on optimum management in hay production and hay feeding of native warm season grasses to cattle,” says Davis. Topics covered will include:
- Agronomic management of native warm season grasses for hay production
- Cattle nutritional considerations associated with native warm season grass hay
The workshop will begin at 7:00 p. m. and be held online via ZOOM. Cost of the workshop is $16 per person and all registration needs to be done online to attend by June 22nd at https://extension2.missouri.edu/events/native-warm-season-grass-hay-production-workshop.
