Southwest Missouri I’m Diggin’ It Metal Detecting Club Meeting September 2025

CARTHAGE, Mo. — The Carthage based I’m Diggin’ It Metal Detecting Club met at 8 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 6, 2025, at the Carthage Braum’s for their August monthly meeting.

The club discussed and showcased some of their finds from the previous month. Finds from the previous month are eligible to enter to win a prize, with the winners for each category voted on by the members in attendance.

Category winners for August were:

Civil War: General Service Eagle Button, David Hoover

Jewelry: K&S Security Anniversary Pendant, Jarrod Miller

Nicest Coin: 1917 Standing Liberty Quarter, Tom Bayless

Oldest Coin: 1888 Indian Head Penny, Jarrod Miller

Relic: 1940s KEM Bottle Lighter, David Hoover

Token: Gene Jarrett Stag Bar 2 1/2 cent token, Jarrod Miller

Toy: None entered

Each category winner receives a silver dime as a prize.

Members present were: President Tom Bayless, Treasurer David Hoover, Bill Hawkins, Matt Barrett, Jarrod Miller, George Pinkley and Ambree Hoover.

After the meeting, members went and hunted around the Diamond and Granby area. A good time was had by all.
