CCF Spring Grants Round Opens March 21

CARTHAGE, Mo.Carthage Community Foundation will begin accepting applications for its spring community grant-making round on Monday, March 21. Local 501(c)3 organizations and other IRS-approved nonprofit entities, such as civic, education or faith-based groups, are eligible to apply.

CCF has interest in supporting organizations and projects which enhance the lives of Carthage residents and provide innovative solutions for existing and emerging community needs. Areas of funding focus include:

  • Health and human services
  • Education and youth services
  • Arts, culture, history and community beautification
  • Food and nutrition

CCF prefers to provide grants for one-time initiatives and capital or equipment purchases; however, the CCF board will also consider applications for operating expenses if a strong case is made for special circumstances due to ongoing or severe impact from the COVID-19 pandemic. The total amount one applicant may request is $5,000.

In addition to the spring community grant round, the application period for the Vivian Leon Fund for the Musical Arts program will also open on March 21. Eligible applicants are 501(c)3 organizations, schools and colleges that offer classical music programs, with an emphasis on piano performance, in Jasper and Newton counties. The suggested range for grant proposals is $1,000–$4,000.

For both programs, agencies can begin the application process at cfozarks.org/applyforgrants. All applications must be completed and submitted online by 5:00 p.m. on Thursday, April 14.

Grant announcements for both programs are expected in early May.
