On Wednesday, Feb. 26, 2020, local bondsman Larry Newman was elected to the Board of Directors of the Professional Bondsmen of the United States, a national trade organization representing bail bondsmen across America.

“I am honored that my fellow bondsmen elected me to serve on the PBUS board.  The bail bond profession is absolutely vital to our justice system, and I will work hard to be an effective voice for the men and women who work in this industry.  My top priority is to continue fighting hard to promote the right to bail,” said Newman.

Newman and his wife, Sharon, have owned AAA Way Bail Bonds since 2009.  In addition to his role with PBUS, he also serves as President of the Missouri Alliance of Professional Bail Bond Agents.  He is a former volunteer firefighter, police officer, sheriff’s deputy, detective, and volunteer for probation and parole.  He and Sharon are actively involved in promoting several local Shop with a Cop programs and sponsor the Carthage Tigers High School Bass Team.
