Miranda Wolf, 43, of rural Joplin, formerly of Carthage, has been charged with three counts of stealing 25,000 or more, a Class C felony, following an investigation from the Carthage Police Department.

A probable-cause affidavit states Wolf, who worked as office manager for Cornerstone Family Dental between 2017 and 2020, allegedly failed to deposit in the firm’s bank account nearly $60,000 in cash that customers paid to the office. The affidavit states that she admitted to stealing the money from the office’s cash flow.

Wolf also allegedly gave herself a raise in 2019 without approval. The raise added just over $44,000 to her pay in 2019 and another $2,700 in 2020, according to the affidavit.

The affidavit also says she made purchases of items for herself and others with the firm’s credit cards totaling close to $28,000.

Wolf posted a $2,000 bond earlier this week. A hearing has been set for Wednesday, Jan. 13, 2021, at the Joplin Courts Building with Division 5 Judge Joseph Hensley.
