At 10:42 p.m. Saturday, April 25, 2020, Jasper County Sheriff’s Deputies, Avilla Fire Department and Mercy Carthage were dispatched to a possible stabbing, involving two victims, 8711 County Road 40 in Reeds.
When deputies arrived they located a 54-year-old male and 54-year-old female with serious injuries. The female victim was transported by Mercy Life Line to Springfield and the male was transported by Mercy Ambulance to Joplin. Both the male and female, later identified as husband and wife, are expected to make a full recovery.
A 14-year-old juvenile male was taken into custody and transported to the Juvenile Detention Center in Joplin, Mo. All three of the individuals are related.
