Carthage woman injured after swerving to miss deer

A Carthage woman was injured in a one-vehicle accident 6:25 a.m. today on County Road 170, three miles east of Carthage.

According to the Highway Patrol report, a 2017 Ram 1500 driven by Roberta J. Clayton, 49, Carthage, crashed after swerving to avoid a deer in the roadway.

Clayton was treated for moderate injuries at Mercy Joplin.
