MOKAN Partnership announces Work Ready Community Certification for Jasper County

MOKAN Partnership joined regional economic development agencies and business and community leaders to introduce a proclamation by the City of Joplin recognizing Jasper County as the latest regional partner in the Work Ready Community Certification program.

MOKAN Partnership is a regional public-private economic development organization that assists the growth of existing businesses, attracts new businesses, grows the regional workforce, and supports entrepreneurship in the seven county tri-state region:  Barton, Jasper, Newton, and McDonald Counties in Missouri; Crawford and Cherokee Counties in Kansas; and Ottawa County in Oklahoma. 

The primary objective of MOKAN is to help bolster the regional economy by collaboratively working with communities and economic development partners. The Partnership strives to create quality employment opportunities through business attraction, retention of jobs and attracting professional talent to improve wealth and quality of place for everyone throughout the region.

Jasper County’s recertification brings them into the regional collection of certified counties and is one more tool in our economic toolbox to attract and grow business.”

Community leaders and industries work closely with ACT Work Ready to gather and qualify communities and industries that support student and adult skills development opportunities to meet the needs of both people and businesses.
