Wyley Glenn Riddle, 89, of Diamond, MO, passed away on Saturday, September 12, 2020, at his home with family by his side, following a brief illness.
Wyley was born October 3, 1930, at Fidelity, Missouri, the son of Walter Glenn and Marjorie Jacobs Riddle. He attended school at Fidelity then later graduated from Diamond High School. Wyley was a lifelong resident of the area. On June 29, 1951, Wyley and Della Marie Sours were married in Diamond, MO and they shared 66 wonderful years. She preceded him in death on April 2, 2018. Wyley loved to farm and did this in his spare time while working fulltime for many years at Whitaker Printing and Sperry Vickers. He enjoyed gardening and was so proud of his annual garden.
After retiring he continued to farm and had a great love of the land which he passed on to his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Wyley proudly served 27 years in the Army National Guard Reserve under the 203 Engineer Battalion. He was a member of the American Legion Post in Diamond. Wyley was a veteran of the Korean War and received two Bronze Service Stars. He served as a deacon and elder at the Diamond Christian Church and was a lifelong member. Along with his wife, he is preceded in death by his parents and two sisters, Nancy Donoho and Linda Goodnight.
Wyley is survived by one daughter, Gina (Craig) Andrews of Bixby, OK; two sons, Philip (Mary Lee) Riddle of Brussels, WI and Alex (Lacy) Riddle of Springfield, MO; seven grandchildren, Cassidy (Nate) Crilly of Sturgeon Bay, WI, Abbey (Roger) Bombach of Edmond, OK, Wade (Sara) Andrews of Edmond, OK, Weston (Shannon) Riddle of Mukwonago, WI, Kyle (Kelsey) Andrews of Denver, CO, Aaron (Baylee) Riddle of Diamond, MO, and Addyson Riddle of Berlin, Germany; twelve great-grandchildren, Ava Badovski; Karsten, Case and Kollins Bombach; Imogen and Graeme Crilly; Si, Ellie, Tripp and June Riddle; Saige and Austen Andrews.
Wyley’s family is grateful for Three Rivers Hospice for the care they provided. Special thanks to: Shelby, Dawna, Becky, Sherene, Mary, Megan, Melinda and Lisa for providing outstanding care of Wyley these past few years. Friends may view and sign the register book on Thursday, September 17, 2020 at Clark Funeral Home, Neosho, between the hours of 9:00 am and 7:00 pm. Funeral services will be held Friday, September 18, 2020, 1:00 pm at Clark Funeral Home, Neosho. Pastor Kenny Filsinger and James Hays will officiate. Interment will follow in the Fullerton Cemetery at Fidelity, Missouri. Flag folding ceremony and presentation will be conducted by the Missouri Funeral Honors Program.
