Fern Still, 87, Carthage, Missouri, passed away Thursday, August 20, 2020, at the Communities of Wildwood Nursing Home Joplin, Missouri. She was born on March 23, 1933, in Alton, Illinois, the daughter of the late Henry Seypholt and Nora (Chapmann) Seyholt.
Fern was a 1952 graduate of Carthage High School. She married Richard Still on May 10, 1953, in Carthage, Missouri. She loved being a stay at home mother for her children for a time. Fern also loved working with children outside the home and went to work at Mark Twain Elementary School in the Cafeteria. Fern was a member of First Christian Church of Carthage. She enjoyed baking, decorating cakes, crocheting, painting, and collectables. She loved artistic decorations and was good at creating things.
Survivors include her husband, Richard; two sons; Dwayne Still Catoosa, Oklahoma, and Mike Still and wife Tina, Joplin, Missouri; and daughter Denise Fullerton and husband Darren, Joplin, Missouri; a sister, Sonja Hefley; eight grandchildren, Jessica Repshleager, Kelsey Gougler, Jeremiah Still, Kyle Still, Austin Still, Caroline Johnson, Ryan Fullerton, and Clayton Fullerton; and five great-grandchildren, Paisley Gougler, Taylor Gougler, Kenzley Repshleager, Jasmine Still, and Tyler Still.
Fern was preceded in death by a son, Doug Still; her stepfather, Oliver Liles; and three sisters, Doris Frazier, Joann Willis, and Reginia Liles.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm, Monday, August 24, 2020, at the Knell Mortuary Carthage, Missouri. Visitation will be held from 2:00 to 4:00 pm, Sunday, August 23, 2020, at the Knell Mortuary. Burial will follow in the Paradise Cemetery, Jasper, Missouri.
