Della Joyce Cobb, 65, Carthage, Missouri, passed away Monday morning, June 15, 2020, at her home. Della was born March 14, 1955, in Detroit, Michigan, the daughter of Joe Waggoner and Irene (Smith) Waggoner. She was a 1973 graduate of Ozark High School. Della married William O. “Bill” Cobb on March 9, 1974, in Ozark, Missouri. She was a member of Calvary Chapel Church, Joplin, Missouri.
Survivors include her husband, Bill; two daughters, Angela Martin (Jason), Carthage, and Amy Sullivan (Justin), Carthage; one brother, Larry Waggoner (Deborah), Ozark; three sisters, Donna Serven (Dan), Ozark, Karen Selvidge (Keith), Ozark, and Ruth Loy (Darcy), Sparta, Missouri; four grandchildren, Josie, Jack, Lily, and Karly; and many extended family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
Della was her husband’s caregiver for over 40 years. She lovingly and selflessly served her family. Her daughters were her closest friends and they rarely went a day without seeing or talking to each other. Her grandchildren filled her life with joy and laughter. However, Della’s greatest love was for her Savior and Lord. Her faith was strong and unwavering. She covered her family in prayer, daily. She was a true testament of God’s grace and love. She was a blessing to all who knew her.
Funeral services will be held 2 pm, Friday, June 19, 2020, at Knell Mortuary, Carthage. The family will receive friends from 5 pm – 7 pm, Thursday, June 18, 2020, at Knell Mortuary. Because Della had a special place in her heart for animals, the family suggests donations be made in her honor to a local animal shelter of choice in care of Knell Mortuary.
